This page explains what the Island City Bistro website (islandcitybistro.com) collects, why, and who else sees it. It covers the website only. Ordering online happens on SkyTab’s site, which has its own privacy policy.
Browsing the site
The site sets no cookies for visitors and has no ads or tracking pixels. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you; it tells us things like how many people looked at the menu.
Like every website, our servers and our hosting provider, Cloudflare, see your IP address and browser details when you visit. We use these to keep the site running and secure, and our server logs are deleted after about 10 days.
The map on the site is a picture we host ourselves, drawn from OpenStreetMap data, so loading it tells no one else you visited. The Directions button opens Google Maps.
Catering requests, performer requests and job applications
When you send a catering request, a request to perform or a job application, we keep what you typed (your name, email, phone number if you give one, and your message) and the IP address it came from, so we can answer you and stop spam. A copy is emailed to the staff who answer requests. We don’t add you to any mailing list and we don’t share it with anyone else.
The forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks you’re not a bot. It does not set tracking cookies.
We keep requests while we need them to plan your event or booking, and job applications while we’re hiring or might be soon. To have yours deleted, call us or stop by.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, your browser gives us an address we can send notifications to and we store which topics you picked (events, specials, closures). We don’t get your name, email or phone number. Turn them off on the Get notified page, or in your phone’s settings, and we delete that address.
The weekly email
If you sign up for the weekly email, we keep your email address, when and how you signed up, the IP address you signed up from, and when you confirmed. Nobody is added until they press the button in the confirmation email we send, so nobody can sign you up without you.
One email a week with what’s on: events, specials, and any change to our hours. Now and then a second one, when something can’t wait. That’s the most you’ll ever get, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
When you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a do-not-email list so we can be sure never to email it again. If you’d rather we deleted it entirely, the page you land on after unsubscribing has a box for that. A signup that is never confirmed is deleted after 30 days.
The emails don’t track whether you open them or what you click.
Who else handles your information
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, analytics and form protection.
- Amazon Web Services: sends the weekly email and the emailed copies of requests to our staff.
- Google: directions, when you tap Directions.
- SkyTab: online ordering, on their own site.
We never sell your information.
